About this Course

Adults 18+ The purpose of this workshop is to examine the issue of elder abuse in Alberta and outline the various ways in which front-line staff may respond to suspected cases of abuse. We will clarify the expectations of front-line staff, and discuss how to recognize and respond to potential and ongoing situations of abuse. We will also acknowledge in-depth the complexities surrounding elder abuse and outline approaches to risk assessment, in order to ensure consistent, effective and professional responses to specific incidences of abuse.
